Tenzin Yangchen and Tenzin Jamyang of Tibetan Scholarship Program alumni association (TSPAA) presented and interacted with eleventh and twelfth grade students of Tibetan Children’s Village school, Gopalpur, a part of the ‘Youth Outreach Program’ initiated by TSPAA to raise awareness on study and education in US and develop competence of our youth. Jamyang spoke on US education system and preparation guidelines to study at US institutions. He also briefed the students on scholarship opportunities including Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP), Global Leadership Incubation Scholarship (GLIS), and TSPAA’s mentorship program, through which one can connect with mentors of their interest of study. Yangchen shared her experience as a student in high school and how the drive to acquire better standard of education motivated her to be more confident and learned. She emphasized on the importance of reading and explained studies related to reading and its effect on the stimulation of brain activity. This was followed by an interactive session where students enquired about the mentorship program and opportunities related to study in US.
